Shoeing a Clydesdale can be a very tiring task for a farrier. Not only are the horseshoes extremely large, they can weigh over 2.5 kg. This means they have four or five times more iron content than those of warmbloods or thoroughbreds. Although Clydesdales are rather bulky and, above all, very heavy, their movements are very graceful. They are famous for being able to lift their white legs with great force and very high.
